Recorded between 1989 and 2000

The songs on this CD are all sung in the Lakota (Sioux) language. They are ceremonial songs used by the people during times of prayer rather than as songs for every day or social occasions.

Nicholas has been fortunate over a period of several years to have had the opportunity to learn these songs from singers and offers them on this recording so that you may have the chance to learn them for singing within your own ceremonies.

Please respect these songs by not singing them in non-ceremonial settings, there are many native songs which can be sung on such occasions already available.
